GeoTank: Geothermal Storage Tanks

Capture the FREE hot water from your unit!

The WaterFurnace GeoTank is simply the best way to capture preheated water from your unit. Engineered specifically for your WaterFurnace geothermal system, the GeoTank includes unique features that make installation and operation easy.

WaterFurnace geothermal storage tanks, available in 80 or 119 gallon capacities, are specifically designed to provide consistent water temperature GeoTankand constant hot water in geothermal systems. Large plumbing connections, 2" (R-16) insulation, built-in temperature sensor, and chilled water approved make these tanks the perfect choice for geothermal hydronic systems. Complete with extra plumbing connections and deluxe features, our storage tanks are also a great choice for geothermal domestic hot water systems.

Other Application Features

All 'cold' connections feature a diffuser dip tube to reduce lime and sediment buildup and maximize equipment efficiency. Made from PEXAN, a cross linked polymer, these connections can withstand long term exposure to temperatures up to 400° F.

Factory installed temperature/pressure relief valve. UL 174 Certified for household electric water heaters and factory approved for chilled water storage.

Reliability

Glass-lined tank with two anode rods. Primary and secondary aluminum anode rods provide maximum protection against corrosion. The anode rod is used to protect the tank. Instead of corroding the tank, water ions attack and eat away the anode rod. This does not affect the water's taste or color. The rod must be maintained to keep the tank in operating condition.

Anode deterioration depends on water conductivity, not necessarily water condition. A corroded or pitted anode rod indicates high water conductivity and should be checked and/or replaced more often than an anode rod that appears to be intact. Replacement of a depleted anode rod can extend the life of your water heater. Inspection should be conducted by a qualified technician, and at a minimum, should be checked annually after the warranty period.

Sometimes bacteria and mineral action on the anode will make the water smell. Chlorination of water supply will get rid of the odor. Equipment for treating problem water is available at your local hardware store.

Brass tamper-resistant drain valve provides durability and longer life than plastic valves.

Sandhog low Watt density 4500 Watt Incoloy Steel Heating Element is designed to last 2 to 3 times longer than standard copper heating elements.

Application Flexibility

Domestic Hot Water- A pair of 1" connections on top of the storage tanks allow for easy installation and trouble-free operation in geothermal hot water assist systems.
